It will be difficult for Biden apologists to provide an innocent explanation for ‘the Veep signed off on this’ when what was signed off closely connects to allegations of corruption and bribery.
Comer said the email exchanges provide “evidence of collusion” between Biden’s vice presidential office and his son’s businesses.
“Joe Biden never built an ‘absolute wall’ between his family’s business dealings and his official government work – his office doors were wide open to Hunter Biden’s associates,” Comer said in a statement. “There is evidence of collusion in the efforts to spin media stories about Burisma’s corruption while Vice President Biden was publicly pushing an anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine.”
“Suspiciously, Hunter Biden’s associate had a media statement on Burisma approved by Vice President Biden himself the same day Hunter Biden ‘called D.C.’ for help with the government pressure facing Burisma,” he continued. “Americans demand accountability for this abuse of government office for the benefit of the Biden family. Democrats drummed the phrase ‘quid pro quo’ into the public consciousness during Impeachment 1.0, where Schiff humiliated himself with his dramatized version of the Ukraine phone call — for which Trump later released the transcript.
Many of us were saying then, as now, that the critical question needing to be asked here was whether there was any truth to the question of corruption Trump was asking about.
As it happens, divergent lines of evidence are coming to an increasingly unified conclusion that Burisma was bribing the Biden family to leverage Joe’s position to shield them from harm.
To borrow a phrase Schiff made infamous in a very different context, ‘there is more than circumstantial evidence’ of corruption.
Today, the Oversight Committee is announcing new information about a direct connection between Joe Biden’s office and Hunter’s in the context of Burisma. We were given assurances that there was ZERO connection between Hunter’s foreign business dealings.
Oversight has provided new information to contest that… and they want some unredacted emails.
I wonder if Phillip Bump would have some way to explain this away as ‘circumstantial evidence.’

Joe Biden’s VP staff colluded with Hunter’s business partner on Burisma corruption media response.
@RepJamesComer is calling on the National Archives to provide complete and unredacted documents related to the Office of the Vice President colluding with the Biden family and their business associates.
In one example, on December 4, 2015, Eric Schwerin, a longtime Biden family business associate, wrote to Kate Bedingfield in the Office of the Vice President, providing quotes the White House should use in response to media outreach regarding Hunter Biden’s role in Burisma.
Later that day, Ms. Bedingfield responded to Mr. Schwerin, saying, “VP signed off on this[.]”
According to Devon Archer, after a Burisma board of directors meeting in Dubai on the evening of December 4, 2015, Hunter Biden “called D.C.” to discuss pressure that Burisma asked him to relieve.
In the letter to the U.S. Archivist, Chairman Comer requests the documents and information below regarding communications between the Office of the Vice President and Hunter Biden or his business associates.
◾️ Complete and unredacted versions of all documents from Records on Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their Foreign Business Dealings, Case Number 2022-0121-F;
◾️ All documents and communications to or from the Executive Office of the President (including but not limited to the Office of the Vice President) to, from, copying, or regarding Eric Schwerin, Devon Archer, Vuk Jeremic, John Robinson “Rob” Walker, or Jeffrey Cooper;
◾️ All documents and communications to or from Kate Bedingfield, Michael Carpenter, Kathy Chung, Amos Hochstein, Colin Kahl, and Alexander Mackler to, from, copying, or regarding Hunter Biden or James Biden; and
◾️ All executive calendars created for then-Vice President Joe Biden dating from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017.
Don’t you think it’s long past time to make the impeachment inquiry official and put his corrupt carcass on the defensive?
