Did it seem weird to you that the same Dem government that bends over backward to call police ‘evil’ for lawful use of force suddenly ‘back the blue’ without reservation in the context of Ashli Babbitt?
The commitment of the press to carefully omitting important parts of the ‘victim’s role in wrongdoing that precipitated a violent encounter with law enforcement is remarkable. Jacob Blake himself admitted holding a knife when he was shot. That hasn’t stopped the media from calling him a poor victim, and Kamala from demanding an investigation into the shooting.
The same media that can provide a moral makeover that turns criminals into victims had no such interest in the Ashli Babbitt case. The fact that she was an unarmed 5’2″ woman who had been shot by police — and was a veteran on top of that — meant nothing to them. Instead of the kid glove treatment all of the ‘mostly peaceful’ and ‘summer of love’ types at BLM riots burning down city blocks, or setting up CHAS/CHOP in Seattle.
They can’t bring themselves to call some of these other people whose actions often invited deadly force ‘criminals’… but somehow calling Ashi Babbitt a ‘war riminal’ just rolls off the tongue.
The answers that were not forthcoming about the man who killed her will now be ripe for subpoena in a wrongful death case. In that charges were never laid on the cop who killed her, criminal justice for the shooting of Ashli Babbitt may never be resolved, but there is still an option in civil justice, both to (potentially) hold the man and the government accountable for her needless death — and perhaps to clear her name in the process.
Tom Fitton tweeted the following:
“At 2:45 p.m., or within one minute after shooting Ashli, Lt. Byrd made the following radio call:
405B. We got shots fired in the lobby. We got shots shots fired in the lobby of the House chamber. Shots are being fired at us and we’re sh, uhh, prepared to fire back at them. We have guns drawn. Please don’t leave that end. Don’t leave that end.
Approximately 35 seconds later, Lt. Byrd made another radio call, stating, “405B. We got an injured person. I believe that person was shot.” In fact, no shots were fired at Lt. Byrd or his fellow officers. The only shot fired was the single shot Lt. Byrd fired at Ashli. He heard the loud noise of the gunshot. He saw her fall backwards from the window frame.
The facts speak truth. Ashli was ambushed when she was shot by Lt. Byrd. Multiple witnesses at the scene yelled, ‘you just murdered her.’
Lt. Byrd was never charged or otherwise punished or disciplined for Ashli’s homicide.”
Attached to that tweet was this one:

Giles’ unique take on these terrific women makes the scripture come alive. This book is real, raw, relevant, and irreverent. Giles’ prayer is that after reading, Biblical Badasses: The Women, not only will your noggin be filled with these amazing tales of high and lows from real women who rocked in a hard place, via the power of God, but that you will get off your butt, quit pursuing stupidity, start chasing down your high calling and at the end of your life, you too, like the holy femme fatales featured herein, will have left a massive scar on Satan’s haggard backside.
