Before we all rush off to… whatever we’ve got planned for the last Monday in May, let’s be sure and take a moment to remember those who came home under a draped flag.
At the time this article is being written, the 2026 White House Memorial Day message has not yet gone live, even though there has been a variety of patriotic-themed messages through the weekend so far… including a West Point commencement speech.
So we pulled up the one they posted last year.
We at Clash are happy to say that the White House social media team — which does not have a reputation for taking the ‘high road’, and has been known to wade into the muck in mud-slinging contests, struck exactly the right tone for that Memorial Day post.

For perspective, the expanse of time between 2026 and WWII is almost exactly the same as the time that separated Abraham Lincoln from the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
