On July 29, Dr. Anthony “I Am The Science” Fauci was called to testify in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee about the origins of COVID, his role in the response to the virus, gain-of-function research, his previous testimonies before Congress, and new questions about what he thought privately versus what he stated openly that have arisen since his diary was made public. Fauci refused to answer any question and invoked the 5th Amendment 111 times.
At the conclusion of the July hearing, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee said that he would table a vote this week to hold the diminutive doctor in contempt of Congress.
Sen. Paul said, “Holding a witness in contempt is a serious thing, and it should be rare, but the contempt power exists for precisely this circumstance.”
Unsurprisingly, the vote broke along party lines:

So, what comes next?
Possible prosecution for refusing to answer the questions posed to him by the Senators.
The contempt resolution described how Fauci would be “proceeded against in the manner and form provided by law,” pursuant to two statutes (2 U.S.C. 192 and 2 U.S.C. 194), for refusal to “answer questions pertinent to the subject under inquiry.”
Paul indicated that if the committee voted as it did, he’d immediately refer the matter to the Department of Justice, which is not obligated to prosecute. The DOJ told the Washington Post it “seriously reviews all congressional referrals.”

After the vote, Sen. Paul said, “We will hand carry this over to the Attorney General. We will hand carry this to the District Court here in Columbia. As a committee we have voted, as a majority, to refer this, and that will be accomplished today.”

This confirms what he told us exclusively last week:

The decision to prosecute will now be up to Judge Jeanine Pirro, the United States attorney for the District of Columbia.
Let’s take a little walk down memory lane and see what Judge Jeanine thought about Fauci and his response to COVID in an opening statement back on May 29, 2021:

Oh dear. She doesn’t seem like a Fauci fangirl.
Viva Frei made an important point on X:
In related news, the Wall Street Journal broke a story yesterday that a Senate panel investigating Fauci has a copy of the iPhone he used during the pandemic.
A Senate panel investigating Dr. Anthony Fauci has obtained a copy of the doctor’s iPhone, potentially securing even more records related to the doctor’s actions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The copy of the phone was transferred by the Department of Health and Human Services to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which is chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.).
This revelation comes just days after copies of Fauci’s journals were publicly released following their transfer from HHS to Congress. Two Republican senators, Johnson and Rand Paul of Kentucky, have increased pressure on Fauci in recent days to answer questions related to pandemic health measures and the origins of Covid-19.
Good. Maybe we’ll finally get some transparency on this. The lockdown and mandates did irreparable harm to many people.
Someone should face some repercussions for the lasting damage, and I can’t think of anyone better than Dr. “I Am The Science” Fauci.
