Why would a movement that claims to support ‘journalism’ and oppose ‘tyrants’ be so keen about censorship? Simple: they’re lying.
When a movement draws its political strength from manipulation of emotions, it’s important to keep the fight centred on emotional outcomes rather than statistical data. Fauci knew what he was doing when he had big Tech silence wrong think about the lab leak, treatment options, face masks, social distancing, natural immunity, and the lethality. His plan REQUIRED a campaign to ‘silence misinformation’. Biden and his allies in the media and Silicon Valley were all too happy to help with the silencing of dissent. Even (especially?) when it involved silencing ACTUAL medical specialists who were telling the truth.
The same dynamic is in play with the emotional arguments that have been quietly chipping away at the Second Amendment rights wherever they can.

…never seem to find their way to being mainstream national stories. But get some guy bringing a gun to a some kind of a public gathering place, and suddenly the killings matter. It’s like that conversation between Joker and Two-Face in the hospital — it’s not the loss of human life that makes the story matter, but WHICH lives are lost. As if the lives in South Chicago are somehow less precious in God’s sight than the lives lost in, say, a suburban school in Parkland Florida.
The CDC already HAD information on ways in which legal gun owners had PREVENTED acts of violence, either by dropping a threat and preventing greater acts of violence, or even just by unholstering the gun and making the threat re-think the cost/benefit calculus of whatever crime he was about to commit.
Why was that information suppressed in the first place? Because that information IS an effective counter-argument to the emotional appeals for SOMEbody to do SOMEthing. Once the public understands the enormous difference between violence committed by criminals with guns and the enormous criminal deterrent effect of (supposedly mythological) Good Guys with Guns, the emotional blackmail loses most of its power.

…is exactly the same sort of ‘misinformation and disinformation’ psyop Fauci used to discredit more competent scientists who called him out as a fraud almost from Day One of the COVID shutdown.
Gun Owners of America posted an update to the CDC putting an end to the Biden Era suppression of truth with respect to lawful gun owners. It quote-tweeted an April 2025 post calling for a reversal of policy, and now, they’ve got it:

Why would the ‘believe the science’ people POSSIBLY object to the government posting a published study on statistics around defensive gun use? Oh that’s right. We all remember what ‘science’ we were obligated to ‘believe’ in the Fauci years — propaganda and outright quackery.
