Latest inflation numbers dropped yesterday. They’re not only trending in the right direction, but beating expectations by a modest degree, too.
Here’s the reporting. Judge for yourself:

In most categories, we’re ahead of numbers as they stood in the Biden years. Market pressures have hit things like beef and coffee, and the entire petrochemical sector is all over the map, swinging wildly from news item to another.
We all know the arguments the left will make about cost-of-living. But we also see the policies they pushed the last time they were in office.
DO THEY REALLY MAKE GAS PRICES BETTER?
They have a LOT to say about gas prices. But where would we be today if Kamala were in office?
Remember, our output today had a lot to do with Trump’s ‘drill baby drill’ policy framework.
Drilling leases open up all over the place. The whole Venezuela reset. Regulations relaxed.
You can complain about the situation in Iran, but we really don’t know where Kamala’s projection of national weakness would have taken that problem, emboldening either Iran, or Xi’s regional ambitions in Taiwan and beyond.
Besides that, look at California. Because of their Democrat policies, a producer of oil is stuck paying international rates which have shot up in no small part because Ukraine is picking off Russian oil production and straining the global supply.
Other Americans — those with access to domestic supply — are paying significantly less than California has been.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE STRONG ECONOMY?
We’ve been seeing fantastic numbers about new records about Americans seeing the lowest measured levels of poverty since we’ve been taking statistics. Those numbers include good-news stats across various demographics. This includes good news among black and hispanic demographics.
Trade policy bringing manufacturing back and the Working Families Tax Cuts (aka: Big Beautiful Bill) have driven serious improvements to the bottom line of citizens, and Democrats UNIVERSALLY voted against it, which would have resulted in a defacto massive INCREASE in taxation.
But don’t worry. Democrats care about cost of living.
WILL THEY PERMIT FRAUD AND WASTE?
Interest on the national debt is now one of the single biggest line item expenses of the federal budget. But Democrats are fighting in court to make sure that illegal aliens are immediately eligible for government handouts they didn’t pay into. This is at the very same time we are hearing dire warnings about Medicare and Medicaid on the brink of insolvency.
Of course, they would remain solvent if we identified and cut off all of the scammers bleeding the taxpayer dry — often run by people from far-flung parts of the world. But Democrats are far too politically-correct to prosecute for fraud. They get REALLY touchy about investigating them and cutting off fraudsters like the Learing centers or bogus hospices in California. Maybe it’s as simple as them knowing their team gets a cut of the payout and is afraid to bite the hand that feeds them.
WHAT DO THEIR POLICIES DO TO HOUSING COSTS?
Housing is as simple as supply and demand. If suddenly there’s an influx of, say, 10 million people in 4 years, and new housing starts can’t keep up with demand, what do you suppose happens to prices? Even the Bank of Canada was forced to admit that their unfettered immigration was the big driver of skyrocketing housing prices.
Democrats shut down the Government in an effort to block enforcement of immigration laws already on the books. What do you suppose they’d do if they get their mitts back on the levers of power? Refer back to the Bank of Canada’s observation of what that does to cost of living prices.
WHAT ABOUT THOSE TRUMP ACCOUNTS?
Those Trump accounts are not just driving the economy, they are making young Americans from EVERY walk of life an active participant in it. They will step into adulthood with a serious nest egg that — if nurtured — will be exactly the kind of off-ramp America needs to gradually wean itself off of massive unfunded liabilities like Medicare and Medicaid.
In the mean time, those accounts are being invested into the economy that is generating the economic resurgence we are seeing post-Biden.
Democrats are openly hostile to wealth of any kind in anyone’s hands but their own and their benefactors. They open talk about upending the free market and replacing it with… ‘trust me bro’. To be determined, I suppose.
The final question is for everyone still deciding what to do on election day this November.
You could fill a book — or maybe a library full of them — with the failures and inadequacies of the GOP.
But are those failures so far gone that we’re willing to empower a party that openly champions communism, with a growing number of members cool with the idea of ‘blood in the streets’ and cheering the deaths (real or hypothetical) of their political enemies?
