Remember Keith Olbermann? He was one of the first NeverTrumpers to lose his mind and burn down his career in the process.
We’re pretty sure he’s still waiting for one of his Hollyweird heroes to present the smoking gun proof that those fictional ‘pee tapes’ were the real deal.
Not the brightest bulb in the box, obviously. But it’s worse than that. The rise of Trump appears to have triggered something pathological in him. The only time most of us even hear his name is when one of his Anti-Trump rants becomes too hilarious for the rest of us to ignore.
Yesterday was one such occasion. It began, predictably enough, with the SCOTUS making exactly the ruling that all of us — on both sides of the aisle — were expecting them to make. The ruling was unanimous, even if they differed on the path they took to arrive at that decision.
End result: the activist left’s Grand Plan to wish their ‘Trump problem’ away simply by lawfaring him off the ballot in November has failed. Again.
The consequence of that decision was as predictable as it was hilarious. Emotionally invested NeverTrumpers were left seething with impotent rage. Rather than lick their wounds in silence and obscurity, they have a knee-jerk reflex to vent their spleen in public.
The humor value this affords to the rest of us is almost a public service. Before we get to the good part, here is a sampling of his rage-tweeting:
The one lighting up the internet is the one he saw fit to choose as his ‘pinned tweet’ — the one that stays at the very top of his page for maximum visibility.
It’s when people started calling him out on his dumbassery that the fun started.
The second-best branch of the mockery centered on his criticism of the progressives in the court. Isn’t dunking on minority women as lesser than himself one of the most outrageous moral failings a rich white liberal male can commit? And yet…
The best subset of the mockery came from his effort to defend himself from the merciless trolling his ridiculous post attracted. It all started with a simple exchange.
He REALLY didn’t think that one through. And it shows.
You can guess what came next, can’t you?
The poor sap has no idea when he’s beaten. He actually came back for more in a reply to crazed the pee tweet.
In other words, he is endorsing the death of all of America’s established Constitutional norms so long as it keeps Trump from returning to the White House because Trump is an existential threat to our *checks notes* Constitutional norms.
Make it make sense.
We saved a little more of the extensive horse-whipping he got over this meltdown, mostly because it made sense to share that tweet first.
