Scott Pressler has been an enormous thorn in the side of the Establishment GOP.
As a guy who has been consistently putting in real work both in registering voters and getting candidates over the finish line, you might think Scott would be celebrated among the GOP establishment.
But he’s not. There’s a reason. That reason is important context in understanding the story that follows.
Why the Establishment hates Pressler
When establishment GOP don’t stand for the bases’ priorities, he holds them accountable. He actively campaigns for the other guy in primaries. He’s always polite. He’s always respectful. He always gives elected leaders an opportunity stand for the right thing, or even explain why they might see an issue differently than he does.
But once the engagement window closes, it’s on. Scott leverages his considerable resources to pressure them to act. The issue he cares most about right now is getting the SAVE Act passed. The one that enforces a requirement for voter ID, and limits the use of mail-in ballots to those who have a legitimate need for one.
We have already shown that 50 Republican Senators are willing to vote for it. That’s not enough for cloture. But it’s enough to pass with JD’s help if it can get past Democrat obstruction. There are ways to push this through, against the Dem objections. The left is always finding a way to push their agenda whether they ‘have the votes’ or not. They find ways to make our guys cave. And we do.
All Pressler wants is for our guys to push just as hard on an issue that will preserve voter integrity from the kind of dirty political machinations that are currently under investigation in the Los Angeles mayoral race, or any number of other investigations. More than that, it’s an issue that has enormous political support across the political spectrum. It’s a literal 80% issue.
And the Establishment class has dug in their heels, refusing to make any real efforts to even try.
Presser promised to visit Thune himself, and, if nothing changes, help back his primary challenger when he comes up for reelection in 2028.
Pressler made good on that promise, showing up at a grassroots GOP event in South Carolina. He had a ticket. But a GOP Sergeant-at-Arms denied him entry, and mocked him in the process.
“Get the hell outta here.”
This is the attitude that our elected officials have for Republican voters — contempt.

His name is Matthew Bruenner. And he was doing exactly what Senate Leader Thune wanted him to do.

Pressler himself very deliberately took the high road in this confrontation.
In the end? Remember the clown we mentioned earlier? Matthew Bruenner? He’s the guy that mocked his ‘piss-and-moan’ sessions on Facebook, and bragged about his own online presence.
He’s been relived of his duties.
