The Congresswoman from New York has clearly had her eye on a higher office since her star started to rise.
Back in 2019, The Intercept posted a “Green New Deal” wishcasting video written and narrated by AOC.
Climate change is here + we’ve got a deadline: 12 years left to cut emissions in half.
A #GreenNewDeal is our plan for a world and a future worth fighting for.
How did we get here?

Did you notice older AOC with the white streak in her hair still making the commute to DC?

She’s freezing her eggs:

It was just reported yesterday that she had secretly split with her long-time fiancé Rylie Roberts nearly two years ago–well before starting her egg freezing process.
The controversial New York congresswoman broke up with Riley Roberts and called off their engagement almost two years ago, according to reports.
Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts met when they were both undergraduates at Boston University and he was by her side when she became the youngest person elected to Congress in 2018.
The two were last pictured together at the 2021 Met Gala, and Ocasio-Cortez announced their engagement the following year.
But about 18 months ago, the engagement was suddenly called off, according to Leigh Ann Caldwell, the chief Washington correspondent for Puck News.
It is unclear what may have led up to the split, but insiders have said Ocasio-Cortez stopped wearing her engagement ring in the months before they decided not to get married.
The news comes as Ocasio-Cortez, 36, announced that she is in the process of freezing her eggs to ‘feel more in control of my life’ and will be documenting her fertility journey.

Now she’s posting thirst-trap videos:

And she’s trying to distance herself from “woke” while laughing about it on the Sunday shows:
AOC on Francesca Hong's old tweets calling for abolishing prisons and the police:
"Woke 1 was crazy." pic.twitter.com/OuqYhSwtbk

“We wanted to abolish prisons and defund the police! Ha-ha-ha! Woke 1 was crazy!”
“We burned down cities in the summer of 2020! Ha-ha-ha! Wasn’t Woke 1 crazy?”
“We called half the country fascists! Ha-ha-ha! Woke 1 was soooo craaaaazzzyyyy!”
The difference between “Woke 1” and the current era of Woke is that the advocates of Woke 1 have learned from Trojan Horse candidates like Abigail Spanberger in Virginia that you just say you’re a moderate to get you elected and then you implement the leftist policies that you really want.
AOC’s documenting of her fertility journey,
The X account American Debunk had this insightful post:
I’m going to summarize AOC’s week so you can finally understand why she’s currently the Democrat front runner for 2028:
1. She filmed herself injecting fertility hormones and announced she’s freezing her eggs.
2. She casually declared “Woke 1 was crazy.” You should view this as a clean, public break from the brand that made her famous. She’s signaling growth and maturity by distancing herself from Wokeness. And she’s doing it without fully abandoning her tribe.
3. She allegedly split from her fiancé.
4. She’s a career woman in her mid-30s. She’s modeling the timelines, trade-offs, and biological realities that define the millions of women in her generation.
This alone is a winning combination on the Left and resonates with most women.
They want validation that their path—delayed family, career first, personal autonomy, anxiety about the biological clock—is seen and heard.
This week, tens of millions of women in their 20-50s looked at AOC and saw themselves.
No other prominent female Democrat currently occupies that lane and has her cultural reach
She knows how to get attention, has media fluency, and is authentic.
She’s representing the modern woman.
You’re looking at the current 2028 Democrat nominee.
I think that’s mostly right. My bet, however, is that she’s gunning for Chuck Schumer’s Senate seat first and will parlay that into a White House bid later. She’s 36–she’s got time. And let’s be real, the DSA crowd are just itching to ditch Schumer.
I guess we’ll see what she does in the next little while.
