CHRISTMAS: More Than A ‘Babe In A Manger’ He Was A Coming King

Even people who have never once darkened the door of a Church will remember that Charlie Brown Christmas special when an exasperated Charlie Brown asks if there’s ANYONE who can tell him the real meaning of Christmas.

Linus steps up. Calls for the lights to be dimmed, and proceeds to recite the gospel account of Christ’s birth in the second chapter of Luke.

Tucked away in the midst of that account, we see this:

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

This is an important detail that would be lost on Western ears.
