Europe has long since ceased to be the beating heart of Christian civilization and Culture, but even they reach a point where they cannot look away. The latest slaughter in Nigeria is (once again) bad enough that it pushed them to that limit.
They put out an official statement about persecuted Christians in Nigeria and steps they want to see taken.
Sudan for war crimes in the siege of El-Obeid, and Pakistan for letting young girls be kidnapped, forcibly converted to Islam and forced to be ‘child brides’ (ie: sex slaves) were also specifically being called out the same day.
As we might note by the fact this is hardly the first call on Nigeria to do something to put an end to these attacks where armed bandits are launching surprise pre-dawn raids on (mainly) Christian villages. Villagers have no guns because Nigerians have no Second Amendment rights to own one. They are literally as lambs to the slaughter. Where heavily-armed raiders are free to attack, kill, or kidnap anyone unable to flee into the jungle. Property is plundered, buildings are burned. And the days after, mass burials by those lucky enough to escape with their lives.
Here’s the recent slaughter that prompted the formal appeal to Nigerian leadership to address the mass slaughter of rural Christians.
No fewer than 21 people were reportedly killed and several others injured in a fresh attack on Kawel Village in Mushere Kingdom, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Residents alleged that the attackers were suspected Fulani herdsmen. The attack, they said, occurred late Sunday night while members of the community were asleep.
A resident of Mushere Kingdom, who requested anonymity for security reasons, said the assailants struck swiftly and left without encountering any resistance or immediate response from security agencies, a development he said reflected the worsening security situation in the area.
Another resident, Malo Bitrus, told journalists that the gunmen stormed the village at about 11:40 p.m., shooting indiscriminately and forcing residents to flee for safety. He said more than 21 people were killed in the attack.

The latest incident occurred less than five days after the killing of the District Head of Gwande in Bokkos Local Government Area, Saf Samuel Alaket, who was reportedly attacked along the Sha District axis bordering Daffo community while returning from a traditional council meeting. — Nigeria Guardian
Pakistan is being pressured to abandon child marriage with the inciting incident being a 13yo Christian girl who was abducted from her family, raped, and forcibly converted to Islam where she is now ‘married’ to her rapist.

The resolution highlights the case of Maria Shahbaz, a 13-year-old Pakistani Christian girl who was abducted, converted to Islam and forcibly married to her abductor in March 2026. MEPs are calling for her to have access to legal representation, her family, and psychological support. They condemn similar abuses committed against underage girls belonging to religious minorities, underlining that her case is emblematic of broader human rights violations faced by minorities in Pakistan ; according to UN figures in 2025, among women and girls affected by forced conversion through marriage, around 75% were Hindu and 25% were Christian.
Parliament urges Pakistan’s authorities to fully implement the country’s national framework to end child marriage, as is already the case in some provinces of the country, and create a national mechanism for handling complaints from families of abducted or forcibly converted girls from minorities. MEPs call for the protection of religious minorities and urge Pakistan’s government to ensure that all cases involving minors or allegations of coercion are subject to transparent and independent investigations. The perpetrators must be prosecuted and Pakistan’s judicial framework strengthened, they add, and abducted girls must be able to return safely. — EU Parliament
It’s a good sentiment. But anyone’s guess how they can make it stick. Pivoting from news to opinion, that sets up a question the West will have to grapple with closer to home.
Of course, persuading Pakistan to persuade their practices will be difficult, especially how most Muslims hold Sharia law as more authoritative than any government legal code, and Mohammed himself consummated his marriage with his child bride (and favorite wife) when she was the tender age of nine and he was fifty-three. (The marriage contract was written when she was only six.)
Solving this problem for them will bring up the very same problem we have in places like Dearbornistan where the religion itself makes no distinction between their supremacist eschatology (end times view) of Islam dominating the entire world in the last day of recorded time, and the political ideology that is (for at least an unsettling percentage of a billion or more people on the planet) willing to achieve violent means for the purpose of subverting and supplanting existing non-Islamic governmental systems.
Imagine Jim jones with an armed militia wing, or KKK/Black Panthers/Weather Underground insisting that they had religious freedom to meet and proclaim their message.
A few examples: Fatwa on Trump that does not fail in its objective like the one on Rushdie, Canadian Islamic scholar who says ‘Islam is totally exclusive and hegemonic over every aspect of life and cannot coincide with Western Ideas’.
Or the Imam in Dearborn who, while leading a service mourning the death of Iran’s supreme leader, encouraged all in attendance to ‘teach their children dream of jihad against the enemy‘
Either we find a way to coexist as neighbours while abandoning their agenda to subject America to laws that are (in their own words) antithetical to what’s written in their 7th century religious legal code, or we brace ourselves for a serious conflict between two irreconcilable worldviews.
Because those ideas pull a country in very different directions. They are cheering Iran, and we’ve got 47 years of track record seeing what gets built when the Marx-reading leftist authoritarians and the Koran reading religious authoritarians work together to topple a government.
It’s bad for the citizens and worse for their neighbours.
If we don’t start looking for reasonable paths forward now, we or our kids will be faced with very unreasonable choices in the future.
