The FBI is now telling us that they have cut way back on the number of Americans they are spying on compared to last year.
Well, I feel better, don’t you?
Of course, the FBI has had this mandate since the 1970s when the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) system was enacted giving the federal government the ability to hand off investigations into possible terrorism to the FBI once it becomes clear that an American citizen might be involved.
But, these days we understand that the FBI has become a thoroughly corrupt arm of the Democrat Party and have abused its authority at least since 2008 when Barack Obama took office and began corrupting the Bureau.
But, gosh darn it, America, its all cool. Because, you see, the FBI has cut way back on the hundreds of thousands of Americans they were spying on last year.
Comforting, no?
Per Fox News:
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said there was a “significant decline” in the total number of queries the FBI made into U.S. citizens between 2021 and 2022 under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
ODNI on Friday issued its annual transparency report on the intelligence community’s use of national security surveillance authorities. The report also outlined the rules designed to “protect civil liberties and privacy and ensure complicate [sic, they meant compliance] with the Constitution and laws of the United States.”
At this point, I wouldn’t trust the FBI to find a real terrorist if they were attending an al Qaeda convention.
You can bet that they are investigating about 10 Islamofascists, and about 200,000 Republicans and Donald Trump voters.
