The law enforcement veteran and InVest USA founder discusses the dismissal of charges against Tou Lue Vang – and wonders why Walz is so adamant in defending him.
Sometimes I just don’t understand people.
There are some out there that simply set out to do harm. And then there are those that go the extra mile and try to do harm to those smaller than them – namely children. They’ll beat them, they’ll try to kill him, and, in some awful cases, they’ll try to sexually assault them.
Tou Lue Vang is such a person.
This 42-year year old was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year old girl. As a result, he was set to be deported back to Laos, where he would likely be given further punishment.
That is…until Gov. Tim Walz stepped in.
You remember Walz, don’t you? He ran alongside Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential election, in the hopes of making America better. Obviously, American citizens weren’t buying it, and instead opted to bring Donald Trump back into the Oval Office, no doubt sending Walz kicking and screaming back to his office in Minnesota.
One would think that Walz is working on making his country better. But this particular decision shows otherwise.
Per Fox News, Walz, alongside other members of the Minnesota Clemency Review Commission (CRC), opted to pardon Tou Lue Vang of his crimes against a 10 year old child back in mid-June. Fox put it bluntly: “The pardon essentially gives Vang a clean slate.”
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Since that decision was made, the State Department has been battling against the pardon. State Department Assistant Secretary Dylan Johnson noted this week, “Governor Walz’ pardon of a convicted foreign sex offender was a grave and unconscionable betrayal of the very people he is supposed to defend.”
Absolutely nailed it on the head. Worse yet, he’s basically told the family of that 10-year old child that was brutalized by this monster that they can do nothing about it. For shame.
Thankfully, Secretary of State Marco Rubio couldn’t let these actions just slip by, and recently revoked Vang’s visa earlier this month, resulting in him being deported back to Laos anyway.
“Walz’s plot to sacrifice the safety of Americans on the altar of open borders was thwarted by Secretary Rubio,” Johnson added. “Now this foreign criminal will never harm another American.”
Now, with the harsh criticism Walz received from the decision, you would think he’d understand the horrific nature of his actions. But his words from a recent press conference this past Tuesday say otherwise.
“Did that make us any safer?” he asked. “Did that make the children that are left behind any more stable? Did it improve the idea we can’t all be judged by our worst day?”
Sigh.
Let me remind you, Gov. Walz. Very carefully.
This man sexually assaulted q 10-year old child. 10. Year. Old. Child.
“Did that make us any safer?” He was off the streets and going back to his home country, so, yes, I’m going to say it definitely did. Until you pardoned him and allowed him to roam back on the streets before Rubio stepped in.
“Did that make the children that are left behind any more stable?” Obviously there are still going to be sexual abuse cases against children. But this was stopping a monster that put a child’s left through absolute hell. And, as a reminder, you let him slip through your fingers.
“Did it improve the idea that we can’t all be judged by our worst day?” I really don’t need to tell you the idiocy of something like the sexual assault of a child a “worst day.” It’s an absolutely nightmarish situation.
Walz did say that the actions were “horrific,” but obviously not enough to change his or the Commission’s mind. Thank God Rubio knew better and put a stop to his actions.
Walz is too busy looking at the bigger picture and figured, “Well, we’ll let one slip by, what’s the harm in that?” But he fails to realize that’s exactly what Joe Biden did with his last term as President, enabling hundreds of thousands of immigrants to slip into our country to do harm to Americans. He lets one go, what’s to stop him from letting go another? And another?
Bottom line, Gov. Walz, you made an awful decision. One that said, “Ehhh, he’s fine, he just sexually abused a kid.” All to look good to those that feel illegal immigrants are getting a “bad shake” in America. The bottom line is there was a reason Vang was convicted, and there was a reason Rubio shut down his visa. So that kids would be safe from that monster, and to remind others out there that justice isn’t far behind.
Take your “worst day” rhetoric and stick it. Round these parts, we believe in justice for all. Especially kids that deserve far better than what they get.
