In 1952, a twisted, self-described Marxist by the name of Saul Alinsky wrote a book that became the “Mein Kampf” for leftists. The book was titled “Rules for Radicals,” and he dedicated it to the devil.
“Rules for Radicals” offered a variety of devious strategies for those on the Left to take control of government. In the present day, the ways in which the Left induced schools to indoctrinate children with “critical race theory” and influenced city councils to vote for defunding police can be traced back to Alinsky’s suppositions.
Unfortunately, Enduring Influence
“Rules for Radicals” included such ideas and observations such as:
- “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.”
- “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.”
- “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”
- “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”
- “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
- “If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside; this is based on the principle that every positive has its negative.”
- “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”
The influence of the book cannot be overstated. A young radical named Hillary Clinton sought out Saul Alinsky for advice and considered him to be one of her personal heroes. Barack Obama was a Saul Alinsky advocate and proud of it. The most radical elements of the American left continually employ “Rules for Radicals” tactics.
Rules for Conservatives
Perhaps it’s time for rules for conservatives. For instance, never apologize for anything that you said 20 to 40 years ago, whether it’s on video, in print, or in any other form. The statute of limitations has passed, especially if you were in your late teens, 20s, or early 30s.
On occasion, we all say stupid things. No one needs to be held hostage decades later for what they said as a youth and, in many cases, even as a young adult. As time passes people do change. If you can believe it, Ronald Reagan was once a New Deal Democrat. Then he saw the light.
In conversation with liberals, progressives, Marxists, socialists, or whatever they’re calling themselves, don’t give an inch. Keep referring to the facts. Watch videos of Vivek Ramaswamy who is a master at this. Leftists argue, largely, based on what they feel and are driven by emotion. Stay unemotional. Calmly dispense the knowledge that you have of a given situation.
Vanquish Their Tired Tactics
When members of the opposition resort to familiar tactics such as labeling others as racist or homophobic, explain to them exactly what those terms mean since the opposition no longer has any idea. When someone proclaims that math or science is racist, inform them that math has existed in all societies, since people could count on their fingers and that the discipline has nothing to do with race.
True science is based on the scientific method and requires impartiality as opposed to allowing one’s bias to take hold. We rely on math, science, and other hard disciplines because it is our best chance to attain solutions to challenges and pressing problems. Don’t let the social claptrap and nonstop racist BS obfuscate what rational adults would otherwise conclude.
When it’s obvious, address the elephant in the room. Draw upon the observations and truisms which the Left prefers to avoid. For example, Joe Biden, in defending his mishandling and storage of classified documents claimed he was well aware of what he was doing. Yet, an investigator refused to charge him citing him as being mentally inept. Illuminate the irony, the contradiction, or the everyday observation that even an intelligent 12-year-old could make.
Don’t give in to hyperbole, ever. Leftists proclaim that Donald Trump is Hitler, just as they proclaimed that George W. Bush was Hitler. Explain to them how such comparisons disrespect the multimillions of people who perished under Hitler.
Stand Your Ground
Always stand your ground. Leftists lose arguments quickly when they encounter someone who arrives armed with the facts, such as the aforementioned Vivek Ramaswamy, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, and Candace Owens. These champions of rational thought unemotionally and carefully dispense the facts that they have. They rely heavily upon logic, not cheap rhetoric. Best of all: they don’t back down.
